6.1 magnitude earthquake recorded near Cuba, felt across Florida


A 6.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Gulf, about 118 kilometers west-northwest of Cuba.

The National Weather Service said the shaking — which was initially reported as a 6.4-magnitude quake — was felt across much of Florida.

In Miami, city officials said there were multiple calls for service after the quake. No major injuries or damage have been reported, city officials said.

There’s no tsunami danger for the United States, the NWS said.
