
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Zion Williamson scored 23 points, shooting 10 of 14 from the field, and the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Sacramento Kings, the worst team in the NBA, 133-123 on Thursday.
Trey Murphy III added 21 points, while Saddiq Bey made 6 of 11 shots (3 of 5 three-pointers) and 5 of 6 from the free throw line to contribute 20 points to the cause of the Pelicans, who had lost two games in a row after a four-win streak.
Williamson added nine rebounds and five assists.
Precious Achiuwa had 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Russell Westbrook had 19 points and 10 assists for the Kings, who fell to 14-50 on the season and suffered their ninth straight home loss.
They have lost three straight and are 2-4 after a 16-game losing streak, the worst in franchise history.
The Pelicans went into halftime with a 67-61 lead. They took a 14-point lead into the third quarter thanks to a 15-0 run.
The Pelicans made 12 three-pointers, compared to eight for the Kings.
