Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said at a news conference early Sunday that police received a call about reports of a “man shooting” at Buford’s bar in the city’s entertainment district.
When police arrived at the scene, they confronted an armed man and then “responded with gunfire, killing the suspect,” Davis said.
Emergency Medical Services Chief Robert Luckritz said three people were found dead at the scene and 14 people were injured and taken to hospitals. Of the injured, three were in critical condition.
