NYON, Switzerland (AP) — Three crosses between clubs from England and Spain will animate the round of 16 of the Champions League, whose draw held on Friday produced one that is usual: Manchester City-Real Madrid.

It will be the fifth consecutive year in which the Madrid —15-time European champion— and City face each other in the knockout phase. The winner could face Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals.

The surprising streak of Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League they will have Sporting Lisbon as the next visitor to the Arctic Circle next month.

It was Man City’s 3-1 defeat in the Norwegian fishing village last month that propelled Bodø/Glimt to a four-game winning streak in the tournament, all during the Norwegian pre-season. They have just eliminated Inter Milan in the playoffs.

The first legs will be played on March 10 and 11, and the return games a week later.

Reigning champion Paris Saint-Germain was paired with Chelsea, and the winner will advance to a quarterfinal against Liverpool or Galatasaray.

Galatasaray beat Liverpool 1-0 in the league stage in September, helping to plunge the English champion into a two-month spiral of poor results.

Two Spain-England duels in one section of the draw will see Barcelona face Newcastle and Atlético de Madrid take on Tottenham. The winners next month will meet in the quarterfinals.

Bayern were paired with Atalanta, the last Italian team still in competition, and Arsenal will face Bayer Leverkusen.

The winner between Arsenal and Leverkusen will play Bodø/Glimt or Sporting in the quarterfinals.

Friday’s draw defined the seeding table until the final on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
